Yes. I’ve started a Weirdo Toys Twitter account.
I have been personally using Twitter since I’m still not quite enjoying Twitter, but just recently I created a Weirdo Toys Twitter account, and I’ve actually been using it a lot more.
So, if you are one of the bajillions that are using Twitter, you can find me – @weirdotoys or @gammo.
Don’t expect tons of toy news or anything like that. Just expect random B.S. from me whenever I feel compelled. Sometimes I do share toy pics. I’ve been trying to do that with TwitPic. Maybe it’ll allow me to show you guys some toys that interest me without committing them to the blog.
I hope to hear from you. Over and out.
You know, this is one of the things that bothers me most about Twitter. Blogs and sites like yours will start it up, and begin “tweeting” little things here and there that don’t make it to the main site, so those of us who are baffled and annoyed by the illogically prolific popularity of Twitter will just miss out, possibly on some of the very best stuff. If you really must post things on there, I’m formally requesting that you also, maybe once a month, or every three months or so, *please* gather all those weirdo toy picture “tweets” into a sort of digest blog post for those few of us Twitter agnostics who remain. I would LOVE to see blog posts here — Twitter related or not — that don’t have a particular focus, but are just to show a bunch of odds and ends in one place.
Okay Garsh, I totally understand what you mean. If I post anything worthwhile, I’ll do a sort of “Twitter Roundup” or something, collecting any TwitPics, funny comments, etc.
I just don’t wanna come across as self-important, and I don’t want to make you guys suffer through any stuff that’s not related to cool weirdo toys. Make sense?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and concerns. I really appreciate it.
Oh of course, I completely agree with your reasoning. And ironically, right after I posted the above comment, I followed the very next feed and discovered you were already ahead of me with your Weirdo Google Searches post. That’s awesome. Thanks very much for your willingness to keep non-Twitter-ers in mind.
No problemo. My pleasure.
Why not put a “Tweet My Blog” or “Twitter Poster” plug-in on your blog. Then your twitter posts come back to your blog and visa versa? Just a suggestion.
I’m kind of the same about Twitter. I have one but I’m not very good about tweeting. To be honest the whole thing still confuses me. Interesting though that you’ve been with Twitter since 2007. You must have been one of the originals.
Like your blog. I’ve got a closet full of old toys that are collecting dust. Keep telling my kids (older ones) I’m putting them in my will to pass down but they just don’t seem to love them as much as I do.
I’ll be checking back here,
Jane
You’re right. I do need to add a little Tweet plugin on the blog. That just takes too much effort 😉 Seriously though, I will see if I can do that fairly painlessly without having to upgrade WordPress and finding all new plugins I’m using for the upgrade.
As far as using Twitter since 2007 goes, let’s just say I was very casual about it. I barely used it. I pretty much despised it. Until I created an account for this blog, I didn’t think people would care at all “what I am doing.” I still don’t think they care. I know I don’t care 😀
Thanks for the kind words about the blog. If your kids don’t want the toys, you can always put the Weirdo Toys blog in your will. In fact, you might as well just hand them over right now 😉
Thanks for dropping by.
This site is too awesome! I frequent it daily. Now that ya have twitter,if I can catch ya when your using it we can tweet about weird toys and what not.
When will ya post some new stuff on here and tweet on twitter again?
